Our Principal, Bruce B. Lindsay, PE, CEM, CDP

Bruce has a broad and diverse career in multiple industries and functions, enabling him to associate with the best in each industry.  He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Wisconsin and was the Executive Director of the EPRI Thermal Storage Research Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  He has served as the chair of ASHRAE technical committees TC 2.5 Global Climate Change and TC 7.8 Owning and Operating Costs.  TC 2.5 allowed him to network with the VPs of Government Affairs for all of the major HVAC manufacturers and refrigerant suppliers.  In TC 7.8, he literally helped write the book on how to calculate energy savings and assess alternatives.  Bruce has worked for Johnson Controls, Comfort Systems USA, Temp-Air, Therma-Stor, EPRI, GRI and managed the statewide energy efficiency programs for Wisconsin.

In 2017, Bruce joined the Brevard County Public School District as their energy manager.  Of their 80 schools, 20 had ice storage systems.  He re-engaged with the thermal storage industry and authored an ASHRAE Journal article on the history of thermal storage.  He volunteered to serve as the Program Chair for ASHRAE TC6.9 Thermal Storage and repeatedly had the most attended technical sessions at national conferences.  He was ultimately recruited by Trane Technologies in 2022 to lead the business development team for thermal storage.  The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 included a new 40%-50% tax credit for thermal storage systems and that drove the sales of chilled water systems.  In 2023, Bruce was appointed as an ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer and invited to speak at ASHRAE chapters in North America and internationally.  In 2024, Bruce was appointed to the ASHRAE Refrigeration Technology Committee (REF-CPCC).
